Abstract

This paper shows a proposal that uses several concepts from Fuzzy Set Theory in the context of the Function Point Analysis (FPA). To determine the function point values of an application or project, according to the traditional process from FPA, some rigid ranges of values are used. Using the Fuzzy Set Theory (FST) it is possible to flex these rigid ranges of values using the membership degree concept. Our proposal applies membership degree to record element types and data element types in function point counting of internal logical files.
