This paper presents a Load Testing, Monitoring and Analyzing (LTMA) tool that has been developed using software engineering technology, Java and World Wide Web (WWW) technology. The LTMA has been used to evaluate the performance of Web-based applications running on different middleware platforms in J2EE environments. As mature middleware platforms, Apache/Tomcat and IBM WebSphere are respectively installed in these J2EE environments at the middle tier. Two typical Web-based applications are used as experiment systems. Based on capacity test, the experimental results exhibit that the LTMA tool works correctly and produces expected testing results.
