Abstract

Also physical database design is the last phase of a database designing process, it plays a very important role in the success of the final product. This designing phase deals with decisions about physical storage structures for data files and decisions about the best access methods used to make an efficient data access. If the physical structure of the database is not well suited, it will be very poor performance when the database will be in the operational phase. An important role in physical designing process of a database is played by the step of observing and analyzing the transactions performed on database. The paper propose a different approach to transactions analysis, which gives a complete and consistent view on transactions performed on a database and helps the designer to elaborate the database structure and to choose the best access methods on it.
