micro-mobility management, load balancing, route optimization
Micro-mobility management protocol stands out as an important provider in large scale wireless internet, and provides intra-domain handovers with high performance. Varieties of schemes have been proposed both in IPv4 and IPv6, but they have bottle-neck problem and sacrifice route optimization. We proposed a novel hierarchical micro-mobility management scheme for IPv6, and designed a new anchor selection algorithm with the capability of load balancing and route optimization during packets forwarding process. We presented the architecture of the proposed scheme, illustrated the messages interaction of address management, and described the anchor selection algorithm. We also discussed the practical issues in autonomous systems with the proposed scheme, and figured out an integrated handover state model combined with other handover protocols.
