Mobile Positioning Techniques, Location Information
This paper presents an overview of the current advances in positioning techniques in conventional cellular networks, including positioning methods, algorithms, architecture and implementation. An analysis regarding to inherent issues of interference and hearability in terrestrial cellular positioning is provided. We propose a promising positioning approach which could probably lead to performance improvement in terms of accuracy and coverage by utilizing the relaying capability of mobile terminals. Finally, we present the benefits and limitation of our approach.
