Abstract

— In this paper we use the Kronecker Weierstrass form of linear matrix pencils to analyze peri odic solutions of linear differential algebraic equations that are frequently used as models of electric circuits as well as of mechanical and chemical systems. The input variables are periodic, bounded and may have discontinuities. The obtained solutions are exact and all the drawbacks of the Fourier series approach (e.g. the Gibbs phenomenon) are avoided. Two illustrative examples are also presented.
