Small signal models of electric converter systems are in vestigated in the paper and their dynamical properties and interconnections are studied. A system theoretical ap proach is used to represent the models in a normal form, which makes analysis of such systems and their connec tions straightforward. Systematic methods to study both internal and input-output stability are presented, and impli cations to controller design principles are outlined.
