Self-Adaptation in Sensor Networks via Code Mutation

S. Ghosh and A.A. Bhattacharya (USA)

Sensor network, adaptation, stabilization, protocol, multi cast.

Adaptive sensor networks spontaneously change their func tionality in response to changes in the environment. The process of self-configuration relies on the network’s abil ity to redefine its data state, or modify its program codes on-the-fly. This paper focuses on the second issue, summa rizes how this can be accomplished, and addresses some of its pitfalls.
