Abstract

Adaptive sensor networks spontaneously change their func tionality in response to changes in the environment. The process of self-configuration relies on the network’s abil ity to redefine its data state, or modify its program codes on-the-fly. This paper focuses on the second issue, summa rizes how this can be accomplished, and addresses some of its pitfalls.
