Abstract

It is well known that it is difficult to analyze the operation and stability of an oversampling A/D converter with 1-bit quantizer because it is a nonlinear system. However, the stability analysis of an oversampling A/D converter with 1-bit quantizer becomes possible by utilizing NTF power integration. In this paper, an analysis technique for the cas cade type oversampling A/D converter with 1-bit quantizer is proposed that employs NTF power integration. More over, an optimal design approach for the 2–1 cascade A/D converter is presented by applying the proposed technique.
