Osteosynthesis, Finite element modeling, Helical-plate, Fracture-gap movement
Helical plate osteosynthesis is one of the recent developments in the internal fracture fixation (on long bones). The biomechanical effectiveness of the fracture fixation by a helical plate is investigated using a finite element method. Helical plate applicability for spiral fractures that occur on the long bones due to the torsional loads will be discussed.
