Abstract

Since induction motors are wide used in the industry, but unstable and in many applications vector control theory has been used. As an alternative the following work presents the design of a fuzzy variable structure control for the speed control of an induction motor. This strategy control combines fuzzy and sliding mode control algorithms. Few fuzzy rules are used for this scheme. The parameters of the fuzzy controller are adjusted by using the VSC for a better response and robustness. The simulations results with the control scheme presented here offer higher robustness and is easier to adjust compared with classical fuzzy controllers.
