Abstract

This paper presents three mathematical models representing health care professional- patient interactions subject to human error. All transition rates (i.e., human error, error retractability, etc) associated with these models are assumed constant. The Markov method was used to perform mathematical analysis of all three models. Expressions for state probabilities, mean time to human death (MTTHD), and mean time to health care professional’s error (MTTHPE) were developed. Some plots of these expressions are shown.
