Random resistor networks, Cauchy distributions.
In this paper, we consider resistive ladder networks (“T-pads”) wherein the resistance of each resistor varies as an independent random variable. As ex pected, the total resistance of the network would also behave randomly. We show that, if the resistance of each resistor is Cauchy distributed, then the total re sistance is also Cauchy distributed. The key ingredi ents involved are two elementary properties of Cauchy distribution.
