Medical education, push, pull, web based teaching
The Internet has been accepted as a means of disseminating pedagogic material from the moment it was recognized that tools such as the World Wide Web (Web) and electronic mail (e-mail) are inexpensive and efficient means of sending significant amounts of multimedia information to various audiences. In this paper we examine the use of technology in educating a specific group of medical professionals where the pedagogic process happens outside the boundaries of the traditional class room. The results indicate that attention needs to be paid to the way in which the material delivered the specific kind of audience for the material.
