This work proposes a novel RS-string-based similar image retrieval method. Previous methods do not address probable cases when the query picture does not include the center object in the database picture, and disregard the decision problem of the begin object in rotation-invariant cases. The begin object in the query picture may not be the same as the begin object in the database picture. This approach may miss many similar database pictures while searching by a query picture. Therefore, a new method is proposed to solve the drawbacks of earlier approaches. The proposed method adds a pseudo center object to the query picture on demand and decides the begin object flexibly. Additionally, users can query suitable pictures in the image database.
