Abstract

MP3 is today’s number one audio compression standard for music. But it does not contain a mechanism to include meta data such as artist or title of a piece of music. Years later the Mpeg-7 standard was designed to exchange and store meta data. This paper describes how to combine both standards and make them work together. It gives advice how to map ID3 tags on Mpeg-7. Furthermore this paper describes sev eral ways how to merge audio signals and content informa tion together.
