Abstract

Internet Suspend/Resume (ISR) allows a user’s computing environment to be encapsulated as a virtual machine. This virtual machine may be stored centrally and made available for execution on client machines. Prior work has focused on ISR within the Enterprise, but there is tremendous un tapped potential to be achieved by pushing ISR to the Web. This paper details a successful effort to extend ISR by utilizing HTTP and SSL with an operational model that allows a secure realization of ISR as a Web-based applica tion.
