Abstract

– The analysis in this paper exploits the benefits of using multiple airborne radar systems viewing a scene in a multistatic configuration. This type of system reduces Signal to-Interference-plus-Noise Ratio (SINR) loss and increases Usable Doppler Space Fraction (UDSF) compared to a single-platform system. The performance improvement of a multistatic system is analyzed by looking at SINR. An interesting consequence of the multistatic geometry is that Doppler shift is now different for each radar, so the SINR analysis must be performed in absolute coordinates and in absolute velocity.
