Abstract

The reason why spotlight-SAR can get higher spatial resolution image than stripmap-SAR does is due to its wider viewing aspect angle than that of stripmap-SAR. This paper presents a method of combining two observations on the same target at two different angles, so as to get a wider viewing aspect angle than that of single observation; each observation is completed in spotlight processing. By doing so, a much higher spatial resolution has been obtained. Computer simulation is presented to show the validity of our method.
