Abstract

Location privacy concerns are main issue of location based application. For protecting privacy, it is necessary to encrypt location information. However, there exists a trade-off between higher speed and higher security because of data encryption time. In this paper, we propose a privacy management mechanism to control two conflicting factors – higher speed and higher privacy protection. At first, we investigate the performance of various encryption algorithms and analyze kind of location information. Eventually, we’ve designed a privacy management mechanism which enables user’s system both to protect location privacy and to maintain high system performance.
