Abstract

Advertisement Broadcast System displays ad data, received from the remote server, on TV monitor. This system is implemented on the uCLinux and socket programming. Thus, it is more program compatible and extensible than the previous systems which are hard to upgrade due to firmware programming, We optimized the socket mechanism to enhance the performance of an advertisement data transmission. Data received from the device buffer is copied to the socket buffer directly instead of going through the kernel memory area. We also propose efficient data scheduling scheme for two-level broadcast system like our Advertisement Broadcast System to reduce average waiting time for data access. Simulation results show that our scheme can reduce waiting time.
