The study took the mainly transmission system of armored vehicle as the research object. On the basis of the fault prognostication of mainly transmission system of armored vehicle, a Forward Householder Real(FHR) arithmetic was applied to complete the adaptive modeling of gearbox. The detailed modeling process includes the test and pretreatment of test data, choosing the model form, estimation of the model parameters and test of model applicability etc. The study showed that the method using in this paper is sound and valid.
