Abstract

Greenhouse gas emissions trading within the Kyoto protocol is an actual example of interdisciplinary efforts aimed at preventing the global warming. In this paper we discuss methods to formalize, model, and evaluate the structure of a national emission trading system to manage various aspects of Kyoto protocol, such as economical, technological, environmental, and legal. For an initial stage of such national system design we propose to use an integrated approach of a simulation methodology and business process reengineering models to conduct the study.
