Transmission line modelling, contacts, bolted connections, making decision
In electrical power transmission and distribution systems we find a lot of contacts between conductors. These contacts have to carry currents of hundreds or thousands of Amperes for many years without any revision. The process of designing flat bus-bur contacts is complex. A great many design parameters may be varied independently, and the balance between cost and quality is often a matter of trial and error. The weighted correlation analysis described here has been found to be a useful method of tackling the problem systematically. Some exemplary application of the weight-correlation method has been included.
