In a previous work a feasible test to be carried out during the production stage of electrical screw couplings of lightning protection systems was proposed using the evaluation current, which corresponds to the nominal current of the electrical contacts. This test with the proper mass and crossing resistance aimed to increase the reliability of couplings. In this work an investigation regarding the affection of tightening torque to the crossing resistance of couplings and the temperature rise in them under the evaluation current is attempted.
