MANET, multicast routing, wireless networks
Manet is a collection of wireless, mobile, dynamic, and arbitrarily located nodes. Such infrastructure-less networks use multicast routing protocols to manage random and uncertain events like disaster recovery, crowd control, and the like. The existing multicast routing protocols suffer from many drawbacks. We discuss a protocol that overcomes these drawbacks, called Moment to Moment Node Transition Awareness Protocol (MOMENTAP), in general terms and in terms of the algorithmic details of its components.
