Abstract

The electric power industry has been developing very quickly in China in last 20 years. Security and stability problems are main restrictions of power transmission. Emphases have been given to prevent power system from collapse and followed power supply blackout. Effective emergency controls (EC) are developed. Variety of Special Protection Systems (SPS), Frequency and Voltage Emergency Control schemes (FVEC), Under Frequency Load Shedding (UFLS) and Under Voltage Load Shedding (UVLS) schemes are widely used. Practical philosophy, Defense Plan and emergency controls in China are introduced in this paper with examples of their application to prevent system collapse accident.
