Underwater acoustics, adaptive modeling, sonardetection.
The modern hydrolocation complexes should take account of complicated environment and conformal antenna arrays. That demands new effective methods of hydroacoustic signal processing. This paper describes how a model of surrounding acoustic environment can be used to increase sonar detectability and to estimate source range. The computer simulation results are shown. The potential of the new method to improve source passive localization is also considered.
