Abstract

In this paper, we propose a pre-emptive route maintenance algorithm for the AODV protocol based on local knowledge. The proposed algorithm is benchmarked using simulation against the algorithms presented in [14] and [7] to show that it consumes less power and incur less latency during a local route repair.
