Abstract

A new TCP-Friendly congestion control protocol for layered multicast is proposed, which is called MRAAR-MT. In the paper, the state machine of MRAAR-MT receiver, opened-loop & closed-loop RTT measurement, congestion control algorithm, and stable join mechanism are discussed in detail. The experiment results indicate that: MRAAR-MT protocol not only has satisfactory stability and scalability, but also achieves excellent performance in TCP-Friendliness.
