Abstract

The paper presents a remotely accessible laboratory for real-time electric and electronic measurement experiments, distributed on geographical scale and accessible to users through common Web browsers. The remote laboratory is based on an innovative e-learning platform that integrates a traditional Learning Management System (LMS) with a specific module that enables students to remotely and concurrently control real measurement instrumentation through the Internet, without specific hardware and software components installed on client-side. The paper describes the innovative services delivered by the proposed e-learning platform in comparison with other existing e-learning systems and discusses a technological solution and some possible improvements for the remote display of virtual instrument panels.
