We developed a generic system that brings discussion to educational content through annotation sharing and advanced linking capabilities, while turning each element of the discussion into valuable metadata for the Semantic Web. This system provides metadata as RSS feeds, where teachers can distribute their educational content with fast and low costs, while learners can reduce the time they spend to find interesting information by taking advantage of the automated retrieval. The client software is implemented as a Java applet and runs on top of any browser that handles DOM and XML.
