Abstract

Multi-Carrier signals appear in many modulation schemes used in modern transmission systems. Discrete Multi-tone (DMT) is a notable example of such modulation and finds application in high-speed DSL modems connecting over the usual copper phone lines. The study of the spectral correlation of the DMT signal is the first and main step to fully understand how external cyclostationary interferers (like radio stations or alien cross-talk), can impair transmission performances. In this paper, we analyze the correlation structure of the multi-carrier signal and provide closed formulas for its cyclic spectral correlation.
