This paper provides a description of a bar temperature control solution for a wire rod mill. The goal is to control the temperature of the bar before the final rolling. The presented control solution is based on the combination of feedforward and feedback control. This ratio control solution is also adaptive, which adapts itself to the changing process conditions. The control solution was tested using a simulator.
