Analog Filter, Semidefinite Programming, Linear Matrix Inequality.
Analog filters are of utmost importance as they constitute pre-filtering of all signal input circuitry and the designs of digital infinite impulse response (IIR) filters are mainly ob tained from those of corresponding analog filters. This pa per considers the optimization design of the class of all pole analog filters with the objective function that falls out side the design considerations of classical analog filters. The optimization design is cast into a convex optimization setting whose solution can be obtained using available ef ficient optimization software. Examples are also provided to validate the effectiveness of the resulting convex design formulation.
