: This paper presents the approach of the eContent Project MUSICAL towards Multimedia Streaming of Interactive Content Across Mobile networks. The paper discusses the trends in mobile technologies that lead to the conception of the MUSICAL system and services and describes in detail the MUSICAL system development and characteristics. The methodology used in order to evaluate the system is presented in detail, the experiments that were conducted as well as the preliminary evaluation results from the field trials of the MUSICAL system in GPRS and UMTS networks.
