To improve the performance of queries for unstructured peer-to-peer (P2P) networks, query processing with Direct Indices (DIs) as an index mechanism has been proposed. However, query processing using DI has problems with the point of correspondence with an increase in topics and the existence of an "ignored" document. In this paper, We in troduce an improved DI, topic-based DI (TDI) and com bine TDI with the replication method for P2P, and solve the problems. Moreover, we simulate and show experimental results that the proposed method improves in the network performance.
