Expert systems, tele-care, intelligent monitoring, and wellbeing analysis.
This paper presents initial results from a project carried out at British Telecom (UK) in collaboration with a number of partners to develop an intelligent data analysis system able to monitor the long-term wellbeing of vulnerable persons living at home. The aim of this project is to deliver a solution whereby a carer can constantly observe the behaviour of a person remotely, changing the provision of assistance to a more efficient and less intrusive on-demand basis. What follows is a discussion of the data analysis methods currently under development that will be used to provide the intelligent assessments regarding a person's behaviour.
