Intelligent monitoring functions improve the reliability of maintenance process in technical systems when they are included in a diagnostic method. In this work, an intelligent process monitoring and diagnosis system has been developed where acquired data from an actual electro-hydraulic system are recorded, analysed and presented in a suitable format to obtain the information needed for the control and detection of possible faults in proportional valves. The diagnostic system uses cooperatively information and knowledge for the final real-time diagnostic conclusions. The presentation of the implementation and developing of the intelligent monitoring process for proportional valves is the overall goal of this paper.
