Abstract

The number of Mobile Stations (MS) has recently been increasing with wireless services. Such increase results in demand for more bandwidth and mechanisms for optimizing its use. This paper suggests a protocol that balances the percentages of new calls blocking and disconnected calls. The protocol is simulated in C# environment. Inputs to the simulator are generated using Marseene Twister random number generator. Modeling of cellular network inputs this way is more accurate that the traditionally used deterministic approaches. Empirical results are consistent with the results obtained from simulation.
