Abstract

Connected Energy has developed a low-cost highly scalable web-based remote monitoring and management system, called COMSYS, targeted to distributed power generation (DG), including combined heat and power (CHP) installations. This system generates and stores a vast amount of performance data that is used for real-time display as well as for daily reporting. Ensuring the accuracy and validity of this data is crucial to the customer realizing the potential operational and analytical benefits of such a system. This paper describes a set of data validation best practices used by the COMSYS system that may also be applied to any system collecting time series data.
