Abstract

The work presented in this paper describes the benefits of Demand Response Resources (DRR) if they are integrated properly in the market. Some current Demand Response (DR) programs have weak points that are explained in this paper, as well as a proposal to overcome these weak points is presented. A methodology for determining the appropriate prices for bids and offers is developed. The benefits of the proper integration of DRR are analyzed mainly from the customer point of view. However, a global point of view is presented to account for some of the additional benefits affecting all electricity consumers and even suppliers.
