In the context of Business Process Management, business process modeling plays one of the key roles. Various modeling approaches have been proposed so far for that purpose, nevertheless, most of them are not sufficiently user centred in the sense that they should allow the users (i.e. the stakeholders in information system development processes) to validate the models thoroughly. The paper outlines an approach, called Conceptual Predesign (CP), which is designed to overcome that problem, and discusses heuristics that allow an automatic transformation of CP models to traditional conceptual ones, in particular to UML activity diagrams.
