If newly merged companies are to successfully share their assets, then inter-organisational linkages must be built. We discuss the possibilities for establishing inter organizational linkages through people through human resource allocation for different types of international assignments: Expatriates, Inpatriates and Flexpatriates. We focus on how these assignments can support successful M&A integration processes so that equality of involved companies is symbolically supported, cultural variety can be better utilized, specialized knowledge can be shared and the communication flow can be improved.
