Abstract

This paper presents architectures for code division multiple access (CDMA) wireless communication systems. Cochannel interference for the proposed CDMA architecture is considered and analyzed. An analytic expression for the proposed method is derived. The performance of the proposed architecture is evaluated by means of computer simulation. The result shows that the proposed method with highly directional antennas provides better signal-to-noise (S/N) ratio than the existing cochannel interference reduction methods. A significant reduction of cochannel interference is achieved compared to sectoring and omnidirectional architectures in the proposed microzoning architecture with directional antennas.
