Mobile number portability service enables the subscribers to change a mobile service provider without changing their original numbers. This kind of number portability service must be offered in the VoIP domain as the demand on Internet service is increasing. For a number portability in VoIP domain, we need new mechanism to provide a number portability service in a softswitch which is an essential IP-based converged network component. In this paper, we suggest a method of the number portability in the softswitch for IP-based converged Network.
