A home-gateway management system requires secure communication methods for home user's privacy and high scalability to manage many home-gateways. To reduce increasing volume of gateway traffic and to prevent increasing attempt of network attack, it is requested to make the system using a light security mechanism. In this paper, we propose transport-layer security mechanism that satisfies both the secure communication requirement and the high performance requirement of scalability at the same time. In this mechanism, the system reduces a data transport time between the management system and home-gateway.
