Abstract

Redevelopment of a large scale course from a traditional to blended learning model is a challenging prospect. An analytical approach to redesign efforts that focuses on all aspects of a course must be utilized to identify a learner demographic as well as learner and instructional needs. Key issues when redeveloping a course to a hybrid model include designing effective and transforming objectives for the course. Additionally scaffolding and support for independent student learning must be created and appropriately implemented. A continuous cycle of analysis and evaluation of a course allow for future revision based on new data.
