3D Character Animation, Internet Distribution.
3D graphic visualization has become a common entertainment medium. One of its biggest limitations is the amount of data required to present interesting, detailed, and compelling stories. The Internet is an ideal distribution mechanism of 3D animated character-driven animation, but the transmission bottleneck may cause hesitation and pausing that lower the viewer's perceived quality and possibly interrupt the story narrative. We present concepts and methods to dramatically reduce the amount of data required to describe high quality, 3D character animation so that it can be distributed on the Internet.
