Kac's method, transmission line, telegrapher equation, waveform distortion, waveform designing.
The Kac's method of solving the telegrapher equation in one dimension is extended to initial condition prescribed over time, and applied to waveform distortion and design ing. This complements an earlier work on this application where the initial condition was prescribed over space [J. Math. Phys., 36, p.23242340 (1995)]. An explicit solu tion is conjectured. Examples of waveform distortion and designing are given.
